Maria Fitzpatrick Is PacifiCare’s Chief Info Officer

* Maria Fitzpatrick has been appointed chief information officer of PacifiCare Health Systems Inc. in Santa Ana. Fitzpatrick, who joined the company in 1996 as vice president of information systems development, had been interim chief information officer since March. Before joining PacifiCare, she held senior management positions in information technology line management and program/project management at Bank of America, First Interstate Bank and Security Pacific Bank.

* Ralph F. Hake, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Fluor Corp. in Aliso Viejo, has been elected to the National Assn. of Manufacturers board of directors. He also was named chairman of the organization’s Taxation and Economic Policy Group.

* Julianne Sartain has been elected president of the Constitutional Rights Foundation of Orange County. She is a partner in the law firm of Snell & Wilmer LLP.

* Michael Self has joined Stomp Inc. in Costa Mesa as executive vice president, chief financial officer and general counsel. Self’s Newport Beach law firm, Self & Bhamre, has served as legal counsel to Stomp since its incorporation. Before practicing law, Self was a senior accountant with Price Waterhouse in San Francisco and an instructor with the Becker CPA Review Course.

* Scott Streitman has been named chief financial officer and vice president of finance and administration for NexTier Solutions Corp. in Irvine. Streitman was previously corporate controller for Peregrine Systems Inc. in San Diego.

* Kevin Skjei has joined the Newport Beach office of Marsh to head the new retirement practice for businesses in Orange and Los Angeles counties. He began his career as a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch and later had his own independent brokerage firm.
