Project Dignity will hold an open house for its new mobile classrooms and library today from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Lincoln Inn. The 22-foot trailer with its two classrooms and library will be open to students every Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. for tutoring, reading and studying.

Project Dignity Executive Director Linda Dunlap said the trailer’s opening realizes a two-year dream to help educate children living at motels. The education of motel children suffers because they change schools often, Dunlap said. They also cannot get library cards because they don’t have permanent addresses, she said.

Dunlap plans eventually to have the trailer open four days a week and traveling to other Orange County motels with long-term residents.
