HUNTINGTON BEACH
The Huntington Beach Educational Foundation received the Apple Award, a recognition by the California Consortium for Educational Foundation for unique fund-raisers. The foundation won for its annual Touchdown for Technology, an event combining Monday Night Football, a silent auction, sports celebrities and refreshments.
This year’s Touchdown for Technology will be at 5 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Meadowlark Golf Course. For tickets, call Suzanne Beukema at (714) 968-5213.
The foundation is a partnership of the local business community and Huntington Beach City School District staff and parents to promote critical thinking, technology use and programs for at-risk students.
