Diabetic Man, 64, Missing Since Taking Wife to Hospital

Share

Eddie Williams, a 64-year-old diabetic, has been missing since Monday without his medication.

Williams disappeared after rushing his wife to the hospital to treat her heart attack, his family said. After checking her into Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital, Williams left about 6 a.m. for the three-mile drive back home, authorities said. “He never made it home,” said daughter Laura Williams. “We haven’t heard anything since.”

She is concerned that without the medicine, her father may have slipped into a diabetic coma. Eddie Williams has been taking medicine for his diabetes every morning for 10 years, she said.

Authorities said they don’t suspect foul play but are worried about the man’s health.

Laura Williams described her father as African American with salt-and-pepper hair. He has little moles below brown eyes. He was wearing a green shirt, black pants, black shoes, a black baseball cap and a light green jacket with “Pats Club” on the back.

When he drove to the hospital, Williams was in a blue 1986 Toyota Corolla, California license 1SDX025.

Anyone with information about Williams is asked to call Det. Jeff Steinhoff at (310) 412-5246 or to call the 24-hour hotline at (310) 412-5210.
