College Center Hosts Kids’ Discovery Day
Teachers and staff members at Moorpark College’s Child Development Center will host Discovery Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today for children and their parents.
The open house is a fund-raiser for the child care and teacher training center and a way to show off its nationally accredited programs, spokeswoman Mary Anne Beck said.
The event will feature classroom and outside demonstrations, animals from the college’s Exotic Animal Training Management program, entertainment and food.
The center has about 130 children and 12 teachers in the program. The center also doubles as a teaching lab for child development students at the college.
The Child Development Center, which has been at the college for about 25 years, is open to children ages 18 months to 5 years. Parents who are not associated with the college can enroll their children at the center, Beck said.
Admission to the open house is $4 for adults and $2 for children.
The college is at 7075 Campus Road. For more information, call 378-1401.
