1st Quarter

TURNING POINT: On Oregon’s touchdown drive, Harrington passed for 73 yards, completing seven of eight passes using four receivers.

NOT IN THE BOX SCORE: Palmer had a key block at the Oregon 17 for McCullough’s touchdown run. USC’s Kori Dickerson forced the first of three Oregon fumbles of the game on Oregon’s second possession, but the Ducks recovered. USC, which had a national-best 39 takeaways last season (3.3 a game), has only nine this season.

STAT WATCH: Oregon outgained USC, 115-96, in total yardage. Both teams had seven first downs. McCullough rushed for 75 yards in seven carries and scored his third touchdown of his career. The 59-yard touchdown was the longest run of his career and the longest by a Trojan this season. Harrington passed for 87 yards, completing nine of 11 passes.

2nd Quarter

Oregon 14

TURNING POINT: It appeared that Oregon was about to take a 21-7 lead after Howry’s seven-yard reception moved the Ducks to the USC 1, but USC’s Chris Cash forced Howry to fumble for a touchback. Oregon fumbled again on its next possession. However, the Trojans couldn’t capitalize on the Ducks’ turnovers.

NOT IN THE BOX SCORE: USC went three and out on four of its five possessions, with another possession ending with an interception.

STAT WATCH: Oregon outgained USC, 122-69, in passing yards. Harrington completed six of 10 passes. Palmer had 69 yards, completing only three of 12 passes.

3rd Quarter

TURNING POINT: Kris Richard fumbled a punt return at the USC 7 and Oregon scored 33 seconds later. USC had four opportunities to score a touchdown from the Oregon 8 but settled for a field goal. Oregon got to the USC 30 on its next possession but was forced to punt on fourth and 13 after Troy Polamalu tackled Morris for a loss of three.

NOT IN THE BOX SCORE: Polamalu was taken to the locker room because of dehydration with 12:03 remaining in the third quarter but returned after the Trojan field goal.

STAT WATCH: McCullough gained 20 of his career-high 152 yards in the third quarter.

4th Quarter

Oregon 28

TURNING POINT: USC trailed by five points after a touchdown by Harris, and Coach Hackett elected to kick the extra point rather than going for two. On the next Oregon possession Polamalu intercepted Harrington’s pass at the USC 21. USC reached midfield, but punted on fourth and two. A possession later USC gave up the ball on downs and Oregon scored its clinched touchdown on a fourth-down pass.

NOT IN THE BOX SCORE: Hackett said the turning point was not failing to go for it on fourth and two but a play earlier on third and one. The play called for Palmer to hand off to tailback Petros Papadakis to the left--instead he went right and Papadakis lost a yard.

STAT WATCH: Harrington passed for a career-high 382 yards, completing 28 of 42 passes including 96 yards, and six of 11 in the fourth.
