Volunteers Sought for Emergency Team

Share

The city’s emergency response team needs volunteers.

The Disaster Assistance and Response Team, known as DART, began in 1994. From 20 to 30 members participate in various disaster response drills. The group assists public agencies in exercising response plans and helps police conduct local search-and-rescue efforts.

Members also participate in community outreach programs. Meetings occur regularly throughout the year. A formal response drill happens once a year.

Each DART member receives eight hours of training and becomes a certified emergency response technician. When a major disaster occurs, Moorpark relies on trained volunteers to back up its public agencies.
