* ELabor.com in Camarillo, a provider of work-force management products, has appointed Thomas J. Flahie chief financial officer.

The former senior vice president of finance and administration for Balance Bar Co. will be responsible for developing strategies so ELabor.com can deliver its products via the Internet.

At Balance Bar, a $100-million developer of nutritional products, Flahie was instrumental in taking the company public in June 1998 and negotiating the sale of the firm to Kraft Foods Inc. for $268 million in March.

* Dole Food Co. Inc. in Westlake Village has named C. Michael Carter vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. He previously served as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Pinkerton’s Inc.

Dole, which had 1999 revenue of $5.1 billion, is the world’s largest producer of fresh fruit, vegetables and fresh-cut flowers. It also markets a line of packaged foods.
