Ursula Oppens’ “Keyboard Eclectic” program will balance classical repertory by Schubert and Debussy with contemporary music by Gyorgy Ligeti, Witold Lutoslawski and Richard Teitelbaum, who will be one of the performers. The concert is part of the Eclectic Orange Festival sponsored by the Philharmonic Society. A question-answer session with the artists will follow the program.

Saxophonist Karl Denson calls his latest ensemble Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, which describes precisely the opposite of what the former Orange County musician’s wide-ranging jazz-funk sound is all about. Denson, now of San Diego, who also plays flute and sings when duty calls, brings his sextet to the Galaxy in Santa Ana.
