Elton Gallegly

When the mean-spirited Newt Gingrich “revolution” was going full blast, Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley) and Assemblyman Tony Strickland (R-Moorpark) were fully on board. Now presidential candidate George W. Bush is trying to push his “compassionate conservative” image, and our two guys are trying their best to get on that bandwagon.

Bush, Gallegly and Strickland have been, are and will be conservative Republicans regardless of the image they portray to get elected.

Ventura County is changing fast, and the candidates who need to be elected are Democrats Michael Case, Roz McGrath, Hannah-Beth Jackson and Dan Gonzalez. We don’t need fossil, backward leadership. We need vision, real compassion and common sense--not vote-getting pandering.

I want to thank Gallegly for everything he has done for our children, before school, after school and during class time.

Gallegly has delivered more than $1.5 million to our Boys & Girls Clubs this year. He worked hard to bring needed funds to El Rio so a community center and gym for our youngsters could be finished and opened. These are programs that keep our kids off the streets after school and provide a productive, safe place where they can learn values and skills.

Gallegly has also worked diligently to bring special education money to our communities. And he has worked tirelessly to lessen government red tape and see that money that is supposed to flow to our classrooms actually gets there.

I can think of no better thank you than to vote for him again.
