‘Phony’ Reform

Share

Re “Politicians’ Version of Finance Reform,” Oct. 12: It is outrageous how our politicians are trying to circumvent the will of the people. Both Republicans and Democrats on the state and national levels are deeply indebted to the special interests. That is obvious from the needless corporate welfare, pork-barrel spending and tainted legislation passed every day. Now our state politicians are trying to fool us by proposing phony campaign finance reform with Prop. 34 on this November’s ballot, in an effort to kill true reform as passed by Prop. 208 in 1996. We have already spoken and must speak again by voting no on Prop. 34, except, of course, all of those greedy politicians who don’t want real reform and the union members who want an unfair advantage in our elections.

Just please ask yourself this: Since we citizens can only vote once every two years and money votes several times every day, who do you think really influences our politicians?
