EBay Glitches Expected

EBay Inc., the No. 1 Internet auction company, said some features such as a seller search and other functions might experience glitches in the next six to nine days as the company works on software. EBay said the failures might occur briefly as it adjusts its system to work with newly installed Oracle Corp. database software. San Jose, Calif.-based EBay, which posted a notice on its Internet announcement board, said it is also considering changes to policies on how it handles failures. The company admitted it had disabled some functions during high-traffic periods to keep the site operating. EBay shares fell $5.50 to close at $54.06 in Nasdaq trading.
