Ask Jeeves Inc., a provider of question answering technologies and services, said its chief financial officer, Tom Low, resigned to pursue other interests, the company said. Low, who joined the company in April, will stay through the end of the month. Adam Klein, the company’s president, will oversee the company’s financial operations until a successor is identified. . . . Santa Clara, Calif.-based 3Com Corp., a maker of computer-networking equipment, said it bought closely held Mountain View, Calif.-based Nomadic Technologies Inc. for $33 million in cash, plus an undisclosed amount of debt and other obligations. Nomadic makes wireless networking products that will allow 3Com to provide wireless connections to a variety of Ethernet-ready devices.
