County Opens Clinic For the Uninsured

Share

Officials from the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services and the Antelope Valley Health Care District joined county Supervisor Mike Antonovich in a ceremony Friday to celebrate the opening of a new clinic.

The 3,000-square-foot outpatient Littlerock Community Clinic will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays to treat children as well as adults, most with no health insurance.

“This is an under-served community that had to drive a good 40 minutes to Lancaster for medical services,” said Patricia Russell, a spokeswoman for Antonovich. “There are a lot of poor people out here, many of them families, who will benefit from this.”

The clinic marks the third partnership between the Antelope Valley Health Care District and Los Angeles County. A couple of years ago, the two organizations teamed up to open the Palmdale Primary Care Center, and last year opened the Lake Los Angeles Community Clinic.

The Littlerock Community Clinic is located at 8201 Pearblossom Highway, at the northeast corner of 82nd Street East and Pearblossom Highway. For an appointment, call (661) 945-8382.
