Man Barricades Self in House, Then Flees
Authorities are searching for a gunman who vanished Monday after barricading himself in a Lakewood house with his two children.
Ryan Broussard, 31, showed up at his girlfriend’s house at Edgefield and Woodruff streets about 1 a.m. Monday, said Deputy Val Rosario. About 10:30 a.m., the woman ran to a neighbor’s house, where she called police, Rosario said.
Hostage negotiators tried to reach Broussard by phone but were unsuccessful. Finally deputies went inside and found the children, but Broussard was gone.
