4 Killed, 1 Hurt When Private Plane Crashes BDReuters
Four people were killed and one was seriously injured Saturday when a small plane crashed in a wooded area about 50 miles south of Cleveland.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the Piper Cherokee was headed to an air show in Cleveland but crashed shortly after takeoff in a wooded area in Apple Creek, Ohio.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
The four men who died were the pilot, Bryant Collins Jr., 55, of Chesapeake, Va.; Daryl Keegle, 40; his son Jonathan; and Andrew Geiser of Apple Creek. Andrew Geiser’s father, Rolland, 44, was hospitalized with serious injuries, officials said.
