Housing developer HQT Homes has decided to withdraw its plans to construct two houses south of the Alta Vista Country Club, citing steep costs and bad timing. HQT was in the midst of trying to win approvals of its tract map and development plan approved by city officials.
HQT officials said the number of homes originally planned did not justify the costs and time required to build them.
The lot on which the homes would sit belongs to a country club, and is currently an unused part of a golf course.
