Davidandgoliath Names Account Director; Boeing Unit Selects VP

* Los Angeles-based advertising firm Davidandgoliath has named Michael J. Dillon account director in charge of developing and implementing new marketing campaigns. He formerly was a partner at Asher & Partners. The firm also has named entertainment industry publicist Kim Walters its new business coordinator.

* Boeing Co. has promoted Thad Sandford to vice president, engineering, at its Space & Communications Group in Seal Beach. Sandford succeeds Ron Duncan, who announced his retirement after 33 years with the company. Sandford previously was general manager for engineering and Phantom Works site leader at the Boeing Long Beach facility.

* Valuation Research Corp., an international provider of valuations and value-related advisory services, has named Sheldon Ausman managing director of its Western region. A former Arthur Andersen executive, Ausman will be responsible for operations and business development and will be based in the company’s Los Angeles office.

* Bob Lasiewicz has been named vice president of sales at Creative Planet Inc., a Los Angeles-based provider of technology solutions and online resources for the media production industry. Lasiewicz is a co-founder of ShowBiz Expo, an entertainment production trade show.

* L.J. Melody & Co., a unit of CB Richard Ellis commercial real estate firm, has promoted Robert Morey to senior vice president in its Los Angeles office. L.J. Melody is a commercial mortgage banking firm.

* Peter Aronson, a former executive at Walt Disney Co. television studios and a former Warner Bros. Television writer-executive producer, has been named president of Regency Television, a Los Angeles-based joint venture between New Regency Enterprises and Fox Television Studios.

* North Hollywood-based media technology company DES has appointed Joseph Noga chief financial officer and Doug Mielke vice president, operations.

* Sony Pictures Family Entertainment Group has promoted Denise Arnold to director, operations, with responsibility for overseeing all operational needs.

* Weber Distribution, a third-party logistics provider in Santa Fe Springs, has named Marcel Trincale vice president of information technologies. A former IBM executive, Trincale will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s information technology strategy.
