The City Council has approved an ordinance establishing a Coastal Advisory Committee.
Two spots on the seven-member body will be taken by a planning commissioner and a parks and recreation commissioner, with the remaining five spots reserved for residents. The committee will monitor city coastal policies and serve as a coastal advocate and residents’ sounding board.
The council set interviews for prospective committee members for 6 p.m. Oct. 4, before that night’s meeting.
