* Re “Disney’s Plan for Old Air Terminal Hits Turbulence”, Sept. 5.

The same Glendale residents who now complain “that city officials spend more time praising Disney than asking pointed questions about everything from seismic safety to potentially dangerous chemicals buried beneath the site” were nowhere to be found in 1992, when only I argued about environmental perils during and after the formation of the San Fernando Road Corridor Redevelopment District.

The Times article by Steve Ryfle years ago about the federally mandated Superfund cleanup and how Glendale delayed cleanup efforts seemed to have been forgotten by those who presently make a fuss to grab headlines, build up their local community celebrity status and grab more political power. The DreamWorks site was the original Glendale Superfund factory cleanup location, but the Glendale biased oligarchy, including its homeowner leadership, favored DreamWorks over human life safety issues and a cleaner ecology.
