The Police Department has started an anti-graffiti program geared to parents. STOMP, Stop Tagging on My Property, is an education campaign that helps parents identify people likely to vandalize with graffiti, also known as “taggers.”

The program lists characteristics of potential violators, and it contains phone numbers for people to call to report suspected vandals. Last year, the city spent $50,000 to cover graffiti, said Mayor Joanne Coontz. “This is a proactive measure,” she said. “We want to stop [graffiti] before it starts.”
