Conservative GOP Group Targets ‘Diversity’ in Ad

WASHINGTON — A conservative group is airing TV ads that urge voters to support Republicans, featuring a woman who says she pulled her son out of public school because there was “a bit more diversity than he could handle.”
The ad is running in Kansas City, Mo. The Republican Ideas Political Committee hopes to help “Republicans up and down the line” in other markets with the ad, founder Richard Nadler said.
The ad’s narrator tells of a fictional son who wanted to attend private school. “We didn’t want him where drugs and violence were fashionable,” she says. “It was a bit more diversity than he could handle.”
As the woman emphasizes the word “diversity,” a multiracial group of children is shown.
