It’s Official! ‘Rocky Horror’ Party Is Set

Share

Hot patootie, bless my soul! I really love that rock ‘n’ roll. I know I ain’t the onlychica riveted to VH1 during the reruns of “Meat Loaf: To Hell and Back.” The star of that biopic, W. Earl Brown, will reprise his meaty role Oct. 7 at Club Make-Up at the El Rey Theatre--but with a rocky twist. Club Make-Up, complete with swag from 20th Century Fox, is throwing the official 25th anniversary party for the “Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

It should be a massive freak-fest. No less than three Frankenfurters will vamp it up (Monique Powell from Save Ferris and Alexis Arquette are two of ‘em). Brown will appear as Eddie, Meat Loaf’s part. Terri King’s throwing a freaky fashion show and the Toilet Boys and the Lunachicks are being flown from New York to play key “Rocky” roles. The winner of the Sweet Transvestite contest will get a free trip for two to Vegas--America’s freak capital. For mas info, call (323) 644-1811. . . . ‘Tis the season to be ghouly and we’ve got some early treats for you. OK, who isn’t totally excited about the Cramps playing downtown’s Variety Arts Center on Oct. 28, at the Fetish Ball & Coven 13-sponsored Fourth Annual Masquerade Ball? Liar. You are too excited.

And if that doesn’t grab you, something in the House of Horrors might. During the ball, the basement will be a spook house sponsored by the movie “Blair Witch II: The Book of Shadows,” which opens the same day. Scary, scary, spooky, spooky, weird, creepy weird. And get this: Fashion designer Leon, who makes cast-metal body armor suits, is debuting his holiday line at the ball.

With some Leon-ware and a pink-sparkly Hummer I might have been ready to tackle the streets Tuesday night, when they were overrun by besotted party crashers. Some were angling to get into the Playboy Mansion for a Cuervo Gold-sponsored event. Others were hoping to rub up against Madonna and mates at an album-release soiree at (Jewel’s) Catch One. Alas, whither would the stars be without the starry-eyed freaks? You know what I always say. Le freak, c’est chic.
