* March 23, 1959--The Chicago Cardinals trade Ollie Matson to the Los Angeles Rams for Frank Fuller, Glenn Holtzman, Ken Panfil, Art Hauser, John Tracey, Larry Hickman, Don Brown, the Rams second-round choice in 1960, and a player to be delivered during the 1959 training camp.

* Aug. 9, 1988--The Edmonton Oilers trade Wayne Gretzky, Mike Krushelnyski, and Marty McSorley to the Los Angeles Kings for $15 million, Jimmy Carson, Martin Gelinas, and first-round draft picks in 1989, 1991 and 1993.

* Aug. 27, 1999--The Vancouver Grizzlies traded the rights to Steve Francis, guard, and Tony Massenburg, forward, to the Houston Rockets, who also receive Don MacLean, forward, from the Orlando Magic. Vancouver gets Michael Dickerson, guard, Othella Harrington, center, Antoine Carr, forward, Brent Price, guard, Houston’s future first-round pick, and Orlando’s second-round pick in 2000. Orlando gets Lee Mayberry, guard, Makhtar Ndiaye, forward, Rodrick Rhodes, guard, and Michael Smith, forward, from Vancouver.

* Nov. 2, 1999--The Texas Rangers traded Juan Gonzalez, outfielder, Danny Patterson, pitcher, and Gregg Zaun, catcher, to the Detroit Tigers. The Rangers received Justin Thompson, Alan Webb and Francisco Cordero, pitchers; Gabe Kapler, outfielder; Bill Haselman, catcher; and Frank Catalanotto, infielder.

* Sept. 20, 2000--New York Knicks completed a four-team trade with Seattle, Phoenix and the Los Angeles Lakers. New York acquired F Glen Rice, C Luc Longley, C Travis Knight, G Vernon Maxwell, C Vladimir Stepania, F Lazaro Borrell, the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2001 first-round draft pick and Seattle’s 2001 first-round and two 2001 second-round picks. Seattle acquired C Patrick Ewing. Phoenix acquired C Chris Dudley and New York’s 2001 first-round draft pick.
