Steenbakker Takes New Duties at Fluor
Arnold Steenbakker has been appointed vice president and executive director for the office of the chairman at Fluor Corp. in Aliso Viejo. Steenbakker had been senior vice president of operations for Europe, Africa and the Middle East at Fluor’s oil, gas and chemicals unit in the Netherlands. He has also been vice president and general manager of the company’s offices in Irvine and vice president of the former Worldwide Automation Group.
* Marty Matthews has been appointed chief marketing officer of iReach Worldwide Inc., a subsidiary of Rbid.com in Irvine. Matthews was co-founder of Promanad Marketing and Communications, where he was managing partner and a senior creative directors. He also was international president of Quorum International Ltd. in Scottsdale, Ariz.
* Thomas C. Quick has been added to the board of directors of MindArrow Systems in Aliso Viejo. He is president of Quick & Reilly/Fleet Securities Inc.
* Mark Page has been named manager of cable assemblies at ITT Industries Inc.’s Cannon division in Santa Ana. Before joining the company, Page was business operations and product marketing manager at Thomas & Betts Corp. and division manager of cable management products at Dek Inc.
* Vittorio Renda has been named executive chef of Buca di Beppo restaurant, which is opening in October in the Irvine Marketplace. Renda joined the Minneapolis-based restaurant chain in 1993 as director of culinary development and was appointed vice president of food and beverage in 1996.
* Walton C. Bond has joined Kleinfelder Inc. in Irvine as regional manager of the Southern California construction management division. Bond has 10 years of experience directing and marketing construction management projects and more than 30 years of experience in construction and design engineering.
* Karel Vidlak has been appointed banquet manager at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. Vidlak was most recently executive restaurant manager at the Regent Las Vegas Resort in Summerlin, Nev.
* Howard Paull has been promoted to senior manager in the customs and international trade practice of Ernst & Young in the Irvine office. He will oversee the customs practice in the Pacific Southwest and Pacific Northwest. Paull previously spent three years in the customs and international trade practice in the firm’s headquarters in New York City.
* Saeed E. Karim has been appointed chief technology officer for MAI Systems Corp.’s Hotel Information Systems division in Irvine. He was previously with Ernst and Young LLP, BDO Seidman LLP and USSearch.com.
* Richard E. Barretto has been named associate principal of Linscott, Law & Greenspan, Engineers in Costa Mesa. He joined the company in 1989 as a transportation engineer.
* Leo J. Presiado has become a member of the Irvine law firm of Rus, Miliband & Smith. He joined the firm in 1993.
* Sean A. Sheward has been named a partner of Turner Development Corp. in Newport Beach. He joined the company in 1997. Before that, Sheward was division manager of the Inland Empire for Pacific Bay Homes.
