KNBC General Manager Ray Heacox to Leave Station for Tech Firm

KNBC Channel 4 General Manager Ray Heacox will depart the station to head up a new technology company, executives announced Tuesday.

Heacox leaves to become president of Atlanta-based MediaOcean Inc. He will be working out of New York.

The specifics of the transition at KNBC remain in flux with no date set for Heacox’s departure--he has been with KNBC since March 1999--and no replacement named.

Station officials said Heacox “wants to ensure a smooth transition.”
