Another 411 Story

Share

* I got a huge laugh out of Patt Morrison’s Sept. 24 column regarding her experience calling 411.

This is another story. I called the special foreign-rates division of AT&T; and asked about the rate to London. The operator asked me where London was. I quietly and unbelievingly said: “England.” She mumbled that she could not find it. I suggested she try Great Britain. She then made another foolish comment, and I requested to speak to the supervisor. She wanted to know why. I told her that I did not have too much confidence in someone who did not know where London was. Her reply was: “Everyone doesn’t know where every country is, and I don’t like the way you are talking to me.” Can you top that?
