Morrison Can Rest in Peace in Paris

From Times Wire Reports

French officials laid to rest fears that the late Doors rocker Jim Morrison would be evicted from his Paris grave next year. Officials at the famous Pere-Lachaise cemetery confirmed that the hard-living Doors lead singer, who died of heart failure at 27 in 1971, would not be disinterred in July when the normal 30-year lease on a tomb runs out. The crush of tourists to his grave has prompted relatives of people buried nearby to petition the cemetery to move Morrison’s remains next year, thinking that the lease runs out after the 30th anniversary of his death, July 6, 2001. But a cemetery official confirmed that his grave has a perpetual lease.
