More than 100 students and other volunteers played the role of victims Thursday during a simulated chemical-weapons attack at Edison International Field in Anaheim.

Dozens of local, state and federal agencies--including emergency crews and police--took part in the drill, which authorities said was one of the largest ever in the country.

Organizers of the exercise said they hoped the day’s events would provide authorities with a chance to test their ability to cope with a possible terrorist attack.
