Angels of Los Angeles

Share

One recent night at the Los Angeles Music Center I introduced the people with me to our new angels so artfully displayed around the fountain. Because I am a docent for the L.A. Conservancy, I was aware of them and had enjoyed those in Pershing Square as well. We all agreed it was a fun thing, yet few people have had the chance to see them or know where they are.

This is a creative side of Los Angeles that needs to be marketed to and enjoyed by the public. We have heard that the angels will only be around for the month of April and will be auctioned off in May for the benefit of youth programs. Why not keep them on display through the summer so visitors to our City of Angels can appreciate them?

It would even enhance their viewing if there was a map published where they might be seen.

When we have an uplifting event in our city we should capitalize on it. Other cities have enjoyed similar figures for several months. Let us do the same.
