‘Straight Up’ Set for Gem Theater

“Straight Up With a Twist,” a one-man comedy created and acted by Paul Stroili, will play April 20-May 19 at the Grove Theater Center’s Gem Theater. Well-received last year in Los Angeles, the show is Stroili’s confessions of his life as a heterosexual man with sensibilities and tastes that are commonly labeled as gay. While creating an array of characters, including his family and his psychiatrist, he lampoons such labeling, coming up with one for himself: “Renaissance Geek.” The show plays Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., as well as Thursday, April 26, and Sunday, April 29, at 8 p.m. $14.50 to $22.50.
