Extend Subway West

* Joyce Pepper’s complimentary letter about L.A.’s subway system (April 3) is just the tip of the iceberg. Since our subway was first proposed, it has been politically correct to criticize it. Now that we have our subway, people are finally venturing underground and finding a fast, safe and stress-free way to get around.

As a longtime subway advocate, I have always known that the day would come when the subway naysayers would be silenced and Angelenos would be wondering why such a beneficial civic project was truncated by politicians and voters in 1998. Extend the subway westward!
