President Bush has not persuaded a majority of Americans to support his tax cut plan after months of trying, says an Associated Press poll taken as this year’s tax deadline nears.
Most people agree that their own taxes are too high but not on what to do about it.
Under half, 48%, said they support Bush’s plan, while 32% oppose it, according to the poll conducted for the AP by ICR of Media, Pa.
The nationwide poll of 1,014 people was taken April 4 through Sunday and has an error margin of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
