Taste of India: Before I go out I grab dinner at Akbar, my favorite Indian restaurant in Santa Monica. They have some amazing vegetarian dishes, and that’s important to me. They have this really cool mushroom dish, Gucci Dahnia.

Cinema Paradise: Ever since I was a kid [in England], I used to go to the movies on my own, as well as with other kids. One of my big memories is seeing “2001: A Space Odyssey” on a huge screen. In Birmingham, they had a CineRama screen. I like to see things on the big screen, so I’d head to one of the theaters in Westwood. And Friday’s a good night to see new releases.

True Blue: My dog is a mutt called Blue, and she needs a lot of exercise. The best thing Saturday morning is to head down to the beach, which is illegal, so I’m not going to tell you where I go, but there’s an isolated spot in Malibu. Abba, my girlfriend, and I will throw a stick around and let her go get it, and she’s good at catching the waves too.

Magical Music Hour: I live in Topanga, and it’s nice to spend a few hours sitting on the porch listening to new CDs. It’s nice to pull something out when you can listen to the whole thing. I go out and see music once or twice a week, but by the time I get to the weekend, it’s time for me to unplug from the music industry.

Talking of Topanga: A great place to spend a night is at the Inn of the Seventh Ray. It’s an amazing place. Most of the tables are outside, and they have all these nooks and crannies. When they turn on the fairy lights, it’s like eating in a grotto. It’s not all vegetarian, but it’s all organic, and the vegetarian selection is quite big.

Brunch With Friends: There’s a couple of places I like for Sunday brunch. I love the Hollywood Hills Cafe. A little closer to home is Pat’s Topanga Grill. There’s another cool place we go in Woodland Hills called Follow Your Heart, a health food store with an amazing vegetarian restaurant on the side.
