From the personal to political, “American Stories” is an exhibit that features art prints from Orange County Museum of Art’s permanent collection. Contemporary artists such as Vito Acconci, Hans Burkhardt, Leon Golub, Dolores Guerrero-Cruz, Lari Pittman, Robert Rauschenberg, Joe Bastida Rodriguez and Nancy Spero are among those on view. Between the 1960s and 1990s, prints became the medium of choice for artists. The prints were used widely because they were easy to reproduce and inexpensive. Many were used for political and social reasons. The artists in “American Stories” utilize a range of print techniques including screen printing, lithography and etching.

Homeless children from the Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter, a Costa Mesa-based organization that assists indigent families, will be among many local children participating in the Easter egg hunt at Newport Dunes Resort. Children ages 3 to 16 will search for more than 3,000 decorated and prize-filled eggs during the 10th annual Easter “Egg-stravaganza.” The public is encouraged to participate in the hunt. Children 11 and younger are encouraged to bring baskets, though baskets will be available for $2. After the hunt, there will be a pancake breakfast.
