The Skinny on Food
In his review of “Bridget Jones’s Diary” (“Keeping Up With Ms. Jones,” April 13), Kenneth Turan notes that the character Embeth Davidtz portrays is “very lean.”
I am compelled to observe that, indeed, the talented Davidtz appeared much healthier portraying a concentration camp inmate in “Schindler’s List.”

I’ve been cracking up at Jane Horwitz’s prudish and inane reviews in Family Filmgoer for some time now, but her review of “Bridget Jones’s Diary” (April 13) was her best yet.
When she includes “eats when dateless” along with the usual nudity, liquor and smoking, I had to write. Thanks to her, I would most assuredly want to shelter my children from such a horrible depiction.
