Officer Shoots Driver After Being Dragged
An Aurora police officer being dragged by a car shot the driver, who died after the car crashed into a building, police said.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, police spokesman Sgt. Dan Mark said.
Two officers had responded to a report that a man was breaking into a car when one officer tried to grab the suspect. The man jumped into another car and drove off, dragging the officer 200 feet. The officer fell from the vehicle and was treated for cuts and bruises. The car had been reported stolen.
The identities of the officers and the driver were not available.
