From Times Wire Reports

A former medical examiner who killed his wife by injecting her with a chemical nearly a decade ago and allegedly had her embalmed to cover up the murder was sentenced to life in prison.

Dr. William Sybers, 68, could have received the death penalty. He will not be eligible for parole for at least 25 years.

Prosecutors in a Panama City court said he killed Kay Sybers, 52, in 1991 so he could marry his mistress without losing millions in joint assets to divorce. He later married the mistress.
