8 am: Marathon

“It’s a Wonderful Race,” the 20th anniversary Jimmy Stewart Relay Marathon, takes place at Griffith Park. The largest five-person-team relay marathon in the United States, the event will feature more than 20 age, gender and corporate-industry affiliation divisions. Each individual runs 5.2 miles before passing the baton, for a total of 26.2 miles. The marathon benefits Saint John’s Health Center’s Child and Development Center and will be co-hosted by actor Robert Wagner and Olympic champion Jackie Joyner-Kersee.

The nationally touring Allan Sherman musical comedy, “Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh!,” based around Sherman’s comic songs, conceived and written by Douglas Bernstein and Rob Krause, returns for a short visit.
