* Ballet--The Moscow-based Russian National Ballet will stage a full-length production of “Swan Lake” April 27 at 8 p.m. at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza’s Kavli Theatre, 2100 E. * Astronomy--The Ventura County Astronomical Society will celebrate National Astronomy Day on April 28 at the Mervyn’s parking lot, Sycamore Avenue and Cochran Street, Simi Valley. Activities: displays, demonstrations, solar observing and more. * Jazz--San Buenaventura Friends of the Library will continue its Ventura Jazz Concerts series with the Jonathan Dane Quartet on April 28 at the Church of Religious Science, 101 Laurel St., Ventura. The young trumpeter’s group features noted pianist Kei Akagi, who has performed with Miles Davis, Stanley Turrentine, Flora Purim and Airto Moreira, among other jazz greats. Show time: 8 p.m. $15. * Cook-Off--Conejo Valley Days will present its 26th annual chili cook-off on April 29 at Conejo Creek Park in Thousand Oaks.
