General Motors Corp. named Annette Clayton as head of the Saturn unit to replace Cynthia Trudell, who left to run a Brunswick Corp. boating division. Clayton, 37, who has held various production and engineering positions since joining GM in 1983, takes over Saturn as it gears up to launch the new Vue compact sport-utility vehicle later this year. The auto maker is expected to bring three other new vehicles to market over the next four years. Clayton most recently helped implement GM’s global manufacturing system in North America and played a role in the launches of GM’s mid-size SUVs and full-size pickup trucks. GM also reported its first-quarter results. (See C3).
