Pops Concert Lineup: Travis to Tommy Tune

Country singer Randy Travis, the Count Basie Orchestra and Celtic fiddler Eileen Ivers join the Pacific Symphony as part of the orchestra’s eclectic 2001-02 pops concert series at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.
Other guests for the seven pairs of pops performances are the Manhattan Transfer, pop film composer and singer Marvin Hamlisch, Broadway singer Bernadette Peters and song-and-dance man Tommy Tune.
Travis opens the series Oct. 5-6, followed by Manhattan Transfer (Nov. 16-17), Ivers (Dec. 21-22), the Basie band (Feb. 1-2), Tommy Tune & the Manhattan Rhythm Kings (March 8-9), Peters (April 5-6) and Hamlisch (May 24-25).
Most will be conducted by the Pacific’s principal pops conductor, Richard Kaufman.
Season subscriptions range from $140 to $504 and are on sale now. Tickets to each concert run $25 to $77 and go on sale Aug. 27.
