Re: “Yahoo’s Search for Profit Leads to Pornography” [April 11] and “Public Outcry Scuttles Yahoo’s Plans for Porn” [April 14]:

We are heavy Yahoo users (home page, two mail boxes, etc.) and were on the brink of becoming zero users of it, based on your information.

I have tried to e-mail them to ask them to explain their decision, but have had my messages returned with an auto-reply, or directions to use another address (which doesn’t work either). I am still trying, and await their reply.

We will continue to let Yahoo know that it is totally unacceptable to us that they would so blatantly turn to the sex trade.

They are so good at making sure we mail users don’t get abused by spam, so we can’t figure out why they would encourage abuse through pornography.
