Authorities in the rodent-infested capital, Libreville, have awarded a $400 prize to Isaac Biteck for killing 3,000 of the 12,613 rats exterminated during a two-week competition.
“This campaign aims to get rid of rats, which are so harmful to health,” said Leonard Assongo, deputy director of the Institute for Public Hygiene.
The competition ended Friday.
