From Times Wire Reports

A Charleston, W.Va., lawyer said he has withdrawn his support for a controversial French researcher who offered to clone his dead son, saying she had become “a press hog.”

The Food and Drug Administration said in June that researcher Brigitte Boisselier had agreed not to attempt human cloning until the effort’s legality was determined.

Mark Hunt told the Sunday Gazette-Mail he and his wife became interested in cloning after the September 1999 death of their 10-month-old son.

Hunt said he lost confidence in Boisselier because she was giving interviews on behalf of the project and a religious group called the Raelian Movement.
