Pitt Names Acting SEC Chief for L.A. Office

Harvey L. Pitt, in his first public action as the new chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, named Rosalind R. Tyson acting director of the agency’s regional office in Los Angeles until a permanent chief is chosen.

Tyson, 53, will continue to work as the L.A. office’s head of regulation, a position she has held since 1993. Tyson, who graduated from Stanford Law School, has held several positions in the L.A. office since joining the SEC in 1982.

The regional director position became vacant last month when Valerie Caproni left to join a New York law firm.
