Council Seeks Applicants to Take Greiner’s Seat
The City Council will accept applications beginning Thursday for John Greiner’s vacated seat, Mayor Wyatt T. Hart said. .
Hart, who called a special meeting for Thursday to open the application process, said he will recommend that the council pick a candidate during an Aug. 29 special meeting.
“There’s a lot of people that are very civic-minded that would want to do this,” Hart said. “I want to put someone in there that can help us take care of city business for the next 14 months.”
Greiner, who resigned earlier this month after moving to Fallbrook, was elected in November. Hart said Greiner’s replacement will probably serve until a special election in November 2002.
