Bloomberg News

Handspring Inc., a money-losing maker of hand-held computers, cut prices on most of its products to spur demand, reduce inventory and fight off rivals, after making reductions three months ago.

The biggest price cut was on the Visor Edge, down 25% to $299 from $399, the company said. The Visor Edge competes with Palm Inc.’s m500 and Palm Vx.

Handspring reduced the Visor Platinum’s price by 20% to $199 from $249, the Visor Deluxe by 15% to $169 from $199, and the Visor by 13% to $129 from $149. Mountain View, Calif.-based Handspring last cut prices in May.
