9 Businesses Accused in Sale of Alcohol to Minors
Employees at nine Simi Valley businesses were issued misdemeanor citations in the alleged sale of alcohol to minors during a sting operation conducted by police, authorities said this week.
The workers were not identified but the businesses include two Texaco stations, Knolls Plaza Market, Lucky 7 Mini Mart, Sav-On Drugs, Pic ‘N’ Save, Walmart, Circle K and Simi Shell Gas, Simi Valley police said.
Detectives had Police Department volunteers, who are under 21 years old, try to buy alcohol at 67 retail establishments at various times in July and this month.
If convicted, the employees face fines and the businesses face state sanctions, ranging from fines to revocation of liquor licenses.
