3 Young Men Shot to Death in Norco
Three young men were shot to death Friday in a parking lot across the street from a Norco nightclub.
Witnesses told Riverside County sheriff’s deputies that the victims had argued with other men outside A Mi Hacienda in the 1600 block of Hamner Avenue about 1:30 a.m.
Deputies were called to the nightclub to handle the disturbance, but when they arrived there were no problems, said Sgt. Mark Lohman. Deputies left to handle another disturbance at a convenience store a few blocks away. While there, the deputies heard gunshots coming from the direction of the nightclub about 2:10 a.m.
Deputies found one man dead in the driver’s seat of a pickup truck, another man dead in the driver’s seat of a car and a third mortally wounded on the sidewalk. All had been shot.
The wounded man was rushed to Riverside Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:15 a.m.
The names of the victims, who were all in their 20s, were not released pending notification of their families.
About a dozen witnesses told deputies that two or three men in a 1994 or 1995 white Chevrolet Suburban rammed the victims’ vehicles before the shootings. The Suburban had champagne-colored trim and may have sustained damage from striking the green car and blue pickup, Lohman said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (909) 341-8817.
